I realize this is supposed to be a section that talks about me, however, I pretty much hate talking about myself. So, I will just give you a snip it that will help you get a sense of who I am, why I started this business and why I really want to help.
I should start by letting you know that I am one of five daughters, which may give you insight into why I have always had an interest human behavior and collaboration. To top of the "always" social family environment, I landed right smack in the middle of the crew. Middle child, with middle child syndrome. For those that do not have experience with this, you can read a little bit about me in Kevin Lehman's The Birth Order book, which is one of the first books I picked up in my quest to understand the how and why of who I am. In addition to that, I grew up in a fairly conservative, Christian home where we weren't allowed to swear, hit or borrow each other's clothes. Culture, and the "why" of human behavior always interested me, as I grew up as the child who was always asking why and trying to understand every detail.
As I got older, I realize I got this trait from my father, as he was diagnosed at a late age with Asperger's, which I feel explains me in a nutshell. His ability to see a process front to end, while thinking in a different way was astonishing. I also realize I got my love of color coding from him after he passed away. I tend to use different colored pens, and he had a whole stash of colored pencils and pens, and was using them to color code his chemotherapy schedule. All that said, I don't believe I have Asperger's, but I certainly got some of my differentiating traits from him.
Another fun fact, I am dyslexic, yet graduated valedictorian (I was not allowed to make a “B” in high school) in high school and Cumm Laude from college which should show not only my zest for learning, but perseverance to see things through (successfully). I got my undergraduate degree in Musical Theater (Bachelor of Music from Oklahoma City University) and have certifications in Extended DISC, Critical Thinking Styles (Hartman Value), Emotional Intelligence (EIQ2), Vital Smarts and Challenger Sale. As you can see, I am a perpetual learner, and often call myself student of life. Due to this accumulation of knowledge, I bring a unique and fresh perspective to the world of collaboration, what it looks like and why I believe it is critical to not only work environments, but any environment where you interact with others. There is a science to how people interact and engage with content, and leveraging this effectively is the key to success.
A little about my work history – I have held roles in Sales, Account Management, Marketing, People Management, Administration and Strategy (I am sure I am missing some). This has been across a number of different industries, with the majority of my tenure following in CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods). Specifically, I have a ton of experience in the world of office coffee (who knew this was a thing?), food service (manufacturing and distribution), vending and self-service markets which all fall in CPG and other industries like healthcare, regulated services, dentistry and even in the automotive industry.
Lastly, I want you to know that I absolutely LOVE what I do. As a harmonizer and servant leader, my style lends itself to "wanting to help" (I probably would have been a doctor or nurse but I pass out at the sight of blood). Typically, my approach to "helping" has been using a combination of people assessments, analyzing organizational processes for suggested improvement (I love fixing processes and brainstorming on a better way forward for people) and honestly doing whatever it takes to help an individual or organization elevate engagement on all fronts.
